I have just tried 
<https://github.com/OpenVPN/openvpn/tree/master/distro/systemd> 
It works OK, however, they assume that server configuration is in 
/etc/openvpn/server/<name>.conf, in current ubuntu package it is: 
/etc/openvpn/<name>.conf that is the only issue. Everything else is great. So 
if you take those files from upstream, ppl will have to change directory 
structure a bit, not sure if that is a big issue or not.
