Just to confirm above posters comments, this is the same bug, its
happening in every major distro, try search on this chip on other distro
forums (suse, gentoo, etc) loads of people are struggling with this, but
it seems nothing being done... only weird work arounds and people
telling you to boot up wihout power, then hibernate, re-login and never
use windows again. I think its silly to just blame it on windows
booting, surely something in alsa/kernel has changed causing this. Guess
we're eighter stuck running ubuntu 6.x or *BSD.
