Fixed my problem by installing: https://launchpad.net/~onboard/+archive/ubuntu/snapshots/+build/9819091/+files /gnome-shell-extension-onboard_1.2.0+2152-0ppa1~xenial_all.deb
I then reinstalled Onboard. Voilà! Working fine. I used it to compose this comment.
