Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. create Ubuntu 16 LTS virtual machine in vSphere 6 or 5.x
2. start the Ubuntu 16 guest
3. go to Console in the vSphere Client
4. Go to settings and change resolution
5. click apply
Here the console hangs
Obs: Ubuntu 15 works just fine.
