@racb Is there any possibility that you apply the fix described at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mariadb-10.0/+bug/1474212/comments/2 to mysql-server package? It has been over a YEAR since this bug was open, the fix is known and works properly, it just ONE letter in the script, it's not an upstream issue, it's just debian/ubuntu package bug. I'm sick of fixing and manually repacking the deb every time an update arrives ...
