With the latest updates, gnome-power-manager now thinks my desktop has a laptop battery! It again seems to be acpi related because when I disable acpi, the laptop battery shows up as 0% in gnome-power-manager. But if I enable it, it does not but again my second core doesn't work and I can't power down.
