I've found that the latest gutsy xorg (1:7.2-5ubuntu12), without the xscreensaver and gnome-screensaver processes running, fixes the issue. So far so good since Saturday anyways.. Can anyone else confirm? Incidentally, I can find no way in xubuntu to disable the starting of the screensaver processes automagically.. I waiteth for fluxbuntu!
