Public bug reported:

There is an *unnecessary* conflict between the bison and bison++
packages. I need to have both packages installed, not so much because I
need both, but some other packages I do need are dependent on bison and
I *need* bison++ as well.  Under CentOS 6, the bison++ 1.21.8 package I
built is happy to be installed alongside the stock CentOS 6 bison 2.4.1
package.

I have already downloaded the bison++ sources and have built a fixed
version that installs cleanly alongside the stock Ubuntu bison package.
The package is available here:

ftp://ftp.deepsoft.com/pub/deepwoods/Other/bison++Ubuntu/
OR
http://files.deepsoft.com/Other/bison++Ubuntu/

This is under Ubuntu 14.04.4.

** Affects: bison++ (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
