I just came by this bug which has been dormant for quite a while.
First of all thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to
make Ubuntu better.
This bug in particular is not at all Ubuntu specific - and very unlikely
one would want to add an Ubuntu delta for this. IMHO That likely is the
reasons it fell through and wasn't watched anymore.
If this is still an issue to you I'd recommend filing it as a Debian bug to get
a solution that Debian as well as Ubuntu will follow.
I'll mark the bug incomplete as it is right now, please if it is still
important and you file a Debian bug let us know here and we will link the bug
to join the discussion if needed.
