Public bug reported:
Pcmanfm Search Tool does not clear fields after closing. For example,
if you search for a word (yyy) within a file, after the search, your
search term stays there forever. If you search for a file name (xz) 3
months later and do not think of clearing the content field, you find
nothing because your search if for "xz (in filename field) AND yyy (in
content field).
Also if I am correct, the filename search does not assume *filename*,
you have to add the * for a partial search. The content search is the
opposite. It is confusing: if you search for a word or part of one
(e.g. contenti), it will search for *contenti* even if you do not put
the * in.
All searches should assume * (i.e. people should not have to write them
in) as some people are not familiar with the *.
The Search feature is very powerful and useful. Hope you fix it.
