I'm still having this problem even after all the latest updates. The status says "fixed released" but I'm still facing this issue. I'm using Ubuntu MATE 16.04. This doesn't happen every time, but sometimes when resuming from suspend, I cannot type my password. The work-around that works for me is to "switch user" and then log in as myself. This will allow me to resume my session, but my mouse cursor is invisible for a while, but comes back eventually. I think the "fix released" status should be removed as this is clearly not fixed.
