I've rolled up these three patches into one and backported to the stable
branch in: https://github.com/hughsie/appstream-
glib/commit/60033e61394562d706e703ad33e0d7e6583d83ce

I guess pulling that last commit into 16.04 makes sense, if nothing else
so it pinpoints where exactly and why the file is corrupt.
