Christopher:

I am glad to receive this; I thought my issue was dead because of my
inability to perform the requested bisections. I have switched to Mint
17.3 MATE because it still uses the 3.19 kernel and is supported until
2019. If I understand you correctly, your advice is that is that I try
kernel 4.8-rc3. Could I do that on Mint, or would I have to download
Ubuntu MATE again, install it, and then try to read through my blurry
display to install the newest kernel? Also, is there reason the believe
my issue with i915 sandybridge graphics might have been corrected?
Please advise.
