I have just tested 12.04, installed from the 'ubuntu-12.04-desktop- amd64.iso' image, without updates.
$ lsb_release -a No LSB modules are available. Distributor ID: Ubuntu Description: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Release: 12.04 Codename: precise $ uname -a Linux wkst1 3.2.0-23-generic #36-Ubuntu SMP Tue Apr 10 20:39:51 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux It behaves exactly like 14.04: With no USB media attached, shutdown works. If there's a USB medium connected, then the computer reboots instead. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1618001 Title: My computer reboots instead of shutting down To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1618001/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
