Many thanks, Joshua – that sure did help. I had never had to do with this Debian bug reporting system, and now I'm glad I hadn't. Even in comparison to Launchpad's search mechanism – I never now how to search in my own bugs, bugs for a package, all bugs etc. – this Debian bug reporting system is a nightmare, though it was no problem to install _reportbug_ under Ubuntu. I hope I have now found a way to report the bug without exposing my e-mail password to Debian and my e-mail address to the whole world (specifying an empty --smtphost and a neutral --email to reportbug). Again, thanks for the explanation.
