Public bug reported:

In Xenial, I have installed the propriety wireless driver from Additional 
Drivers.
There are no Wi-Fi networks shown in the network indicator, as if the wireless 
card does not exist.
This is a regression from Trusty.

Here are some terminal outputs that are specific to the wireless card:
