I think, though the memory is vague, that automatic crash reports were 
sent. If they weren't, it's most likely because they are large and I 
have ISP imposed data transmission limits and minimal bandwidth.

Anyway, too much time has passed for me to try to do this now. I feel I 
cannot reproduce the crash with out reverting many updates of my OS and 
hplip, I would have to do this without knowing exactly what state my OS 
was in, and this is way too much work and risk, especially for a bug 
that is fixed.

Others also reported this bug and maybe they did it correctly with crash 
reports.
