This is not a design bug: the design already specifies that the text is
supposed to be “wants to use the microphone”.
<https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SecurityPermissions#permissions>

** No longer affects: ubuntu-ux

** Summary changed:

- [App permissions] Change prompt "wants to record audio" to "wants to access
microphone"
+ [App permissions] Change prompt "wants to record audio" to "wants to use the
microphone"

** Description changed:

  The prompt when the camera wants to access the hardware to record audio
  is currently "wants to record audio". This is not really accurate since
  an app can request access to the microphone without actually recording
  anything. furthermore the direct translation to French as an example is
  not really meaningful.

-
- Something like "wants to access the microphone." would be more accurate since
it's actually what the application requests access to.
-
  "Microphone" is also consistent with the word used in system-
  settings/security & privacy/app permissions
+
+ <https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SecurityPermissions#permissions>: “Prompt text
+ … wants to use the microphone”

** Changed in: pulseaudio (Ubuntu)
       Status: Confirmed => Triaged

** Tags added: string-fix
