Public bug reported:
After applying update KB3161606 from Microsoft, we've begun seeing
adaptive server connection errors using both mssql_connect and PDO
DBLIB. I'm thinking it's related to "new features" in SQL 2012/2014 that
the update began to enforce or that the update hardened. Reverting the
MSFT patch makes the issue go away, but in examining the base for the
freetds code, the highest level that's supported in Ubuntu is SQL Server
2005 (TDS Version 7.2). Are there any plans to recompile from later
source to support 2008/2008 R2/2012/2014 ?
