Public bug reported:
As of Ubuntu 16.04, there are several ugly applications (starting with
nautilus, as well as the system settings application) that seem to adapt
strongly to Unity, breaking alternative desktops.
For example, Nautlius windows show no borders at all, with shadow-less
designs the window contents of two overlapping windows can not
distincted. The windows can't be resized anymore except by external
means (magnetic desktop borders for example). Some menues are gone, that
would be displayed by the Unity icons or in the panel, for example there
is no way to reach the Nautlilus preferences dialog anymore.
It seems that more and more apps are migrating to those bad schemes (eg.
gitg, for one example outside of the default installation).
Do we need tricks by gnome-flashback to make these apps work again? Or
should they be considered broken (which would mean the gnome-flashback-
session concept is dead, if even default apps can't be used in the old
way anymore). Where should we act to make those apps usable again?
** Affects: gnome-flashback (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
