this might be unfixable but filing it regardless...

when booting on a serial console on a non 80x24 window, the serial
console stays full of cruft when console-conf starts. instead the window
should be completelly cleared even if the console-conf window only runs
in the top left corner in 80x24 mode once it comes up.
