I found that the system sometimes suspends and resumes, seemingly ok, but then there is a kernel trace when I try to reboot that halts the reboot and need to hard reset on reboot. The trace is not logged.
With the kernel from xenial-updates (4.4.0.36) I found a reliable reproducer: 1. boot 2. login fully 3. close lid and wait a few seconds 4. open lid (system usually comes up) 5. login 6. reboot and get a trace The trace was different each time though.... I now am running 4.4.0.38.40 from xenial-proposed and the above reproducer did not work and the system suspended and resumed ok, but there were still these errors from the journal log: Sep 09 10:09:29 hostname kernel: hdaudio hdaudioC1D3: parent 0000:01:00.1 should not be sleeping Sep 09 10:09:29 hostname kernel: snd_hda_codec_hdmi hdaudioC1D3: HDMI: failed to get afg sub nodes Sep 09 10:09:29 hostname kernel: snd_hda_codec_hdmi: probe of hdaudioC1D3 failed with error -22 Sep 09 10:09:29 hostname kernel: snd_hda_codec_hdmi hdaudioC1D3: HDMI: failed to get afg sub nodes Sep 09 10:09:29 hostname kernel: snd_hda_codec_hdmi: probe of hdaudioC1D3 failed with error -22 Sep 09 10:09:29 hostname kernel: snd_hda_codec_hdmi hdaudioC1D3: HDMI: failed to get afg sub nodes Sep 09 10:09:29 hostname kernel: snd_hda_codec_hdmi: probe of hdaudioC1D3 failed with error -22 Sep 09 10:09:29 hostname kernel: snd_hda_codec_generic: probe of hdaudioC1D3 failed with error -5 Sep 09 10:09:29 hostname kernel: hdaudio hdaudioC1D3: Unable to bind the codec Also, oddly, after resume from suspend network-indicator doesn't show the system as connected to wifi, but it is. It will show it on reboot. I'm not sure if the snd_hda_codec or network-indicator issues are related or not. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1621899 Title: System failed to suspend properly or resume To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1621899/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
