I have sound now. I have tried to compile the 1.0.15rc3(driver and lib) and 1.0.15rc1(util) ALSA packages again, but this time I've first copied the .tar.bz2 files to /usr/src/alsa (I had to mkdir it first, of course). Then I used the cli to unpack them for a change (I've always tried to use the GUI package before now, silly me). then the usual sudo ./configure (in the case of the driver with only the --with-cards=hda-intel switch) , make and make install.
It's of course not as simple as out-of-the-box :P but it DOES work now, and it works well, too. I can even use both my internal and external speakers at the same time. -- {Gutsy beta] No sound whatsoever on znote 6625WD https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/149183 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
