Public bug reported:

I'm using Ubuntu 16.10 dev with os-prober 1.70ubuntu3 and if I'm masking
systemd-journald.service, rebooting the system and then executing
"update-grub" different linux images are still successfully being
registered on grub but if an operating system is being checked with os-
prober (in this case an old Windows XP installation) I'm getting several
lines of "logger: socket /dev/log: No such file or directory" and the
related operating system is not being registered on grub.

** Affects: os-prober (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
