Please test the network-manager 0.6.5-0ubuntu16~ppa1 from
http://ppa.launchpad.net/asac/ubuntu/pool/main/n/network-manager/ and
drop your findings to the bug named above.
This one (ipw3945 association behaviour) was fixed a while back.
