Public bug reported:
Hi all
I booted from Gutsy Tribe 5 LiveCD the other day with the intention of
installing it. The Ubuntu bootsplash screen is OK and when the bar goes
all the way across, my monitor reports that the display is out of
frequency (the highest resolution my monitor (LG Flatron LCD 563LE) can
handle is 1024 x 768.
I brought home a monitor from work, a 18" NEC Multisync 1830 and checked
out the resolution, it was set to 1280 x 1024, now I am not sure whether
this is because my GFX card is an nVidia Gforce 6200 and Gutsy assumed
that my monitor could handle the higher resolution or not. There have
never been any issues with any of the Tribe CD's until then (I have been
running Gutsy in a virtual machine since Tribe1 on a Windows box)
Cheers
Emyr
