Per the last question in 1628343
"What exactly did you uninstall that enabled the Printers panel to work
and what did you install that made it start crashing again?"
- First uninstalled the Brother printer drives. But "Printers" in the
Gnome Control center was still crashing.
- Then uninstalled cups-pdf. Then "Printers" launched normally (of
note: with no printers installed).
- Then reinstalled Brother drivers. "Printers" then again crashed.
