Public bug reported:
I shall leave it to more Makefile-knowledgeable people to edit the
Makefile to make certain that compilation fails on wrong pointer types,
but what I saw was kernel Oopses when booting 4.8-rc on 16.04,
specifically referencing wl.
Having done some work on another wifi driver that was kind enough to
spew compilation errors, it suddenly hit me that I might try these
changes, and so far, it works for me on 4.8-rc8.
I don't know which kernel 16.10 is targeting, but consider this a heads-
up, and apply at your will.
Best regards,
F
