** Description changed:
Hi,
Ubuntu 16.04 here w/ Unity
I sometimes have some notification about available update for my system.
But icon for update manager never automatically shows in launcher - as
it used to in previous ubuntu version. (a green background icon with an
A on)
After seeing the update notification in 16.04 one has to manually run
update-manager or synaptic.
Is this intended behavior ?

+ Notifications spring and vanish so it's very easy for users not to see
+ them and then run a non-updated system for long… It's a basic security
+ matter.
