Public bug reported:

Running Gutsy with updates as of 13:30 UTC 10/11/2007. Running Compiz
causes problems with maximizing windows. Windows that should open by
default as maximized actually only fill perhaps half the screen. The
window manager seems to think the window is maximized, as the window bar
buttons change to minimize, restore, and close. Selecting the restore
button, dragging the window down to the lower right-hand side of the
screen, then selecting the maximize button will cause it to maximize
fully. However, clicking anywhere inside the window causes it to revert
to the original incorrect initial non-maximzed screen size. Happens in
Firefox, gnome-terminal. OpenOffice - I assume all apps. Running the
intel video driver with a i915 card.
