Public bug reported:

Using nVidia driver 367.44 on Skylake Intel Processors, with 1000 series
graphics, the backlight won't turn on after turned off by gnome session
idle delay (org.gnome.desktop.session idle-delay). or by `xset dpms
force off`

Resume from suspend is unaffected.

This is on a clean install of 16.10 with the 367.44 nVidia driver. This
is a regression from the 367.35 driver. 367.48 and 370.28 also exhibit
this behavior.

This is confirmed on the following hardware:

Oryx Pro 2 (oryp2) i7-6700HQ with 1070
Serval 10 (serw10) i7-6700 with 1060
Bonobo 11 (bonw11) i7-6700K with dual 1070

Steps to reproduce:

1. Install a fresh image of Yakkety and 367.44 from the graphics driver team's
PPA.
2. Log in to Unity shell
3. Lock screen and wait for dimming.
4. Move the mouse to 'resume'
5. The screen will turn on, but the backlight is still off

The current workaround:

1. Hit tty1 (Ctrl+Alt+F1)
2. Hit tty7 (Ctrl+Alt+F7)

This will bring Unity back to life.
