Public bug reported: In mouse-touchpad-click.html we say "If your touchpad supports multi- finger taps, ...". But does it or not? It's actually easy to determine a touchpad's capabilities using xinput. I give a link below. Could we document it briefly or give a link? Apparently the basics can be covered in about ten lines. I did a quick internet search but the best link I found was this one to the Arch Linux wiki (which I don't think we can link to from the desktop help!).
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Touchpad_Synaptics#Using_xinput_to_determine_touchpad_capabilities PS. The xinput output for my touchpad is: Synaptics Capabilities (295): 1, 0, 1, 0, 0, 1, 1 so my touchpad does not support multi-finger taps. ** Affects: ubuntu-docs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1631315 Title: Determining touchpad capabilities To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-docs/+bug/1631315/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
