there was no further activity but now it seems another report.
I wonder thou that we haven't seen this more often.
The logs are not showing a lot more than dovecot-core failing to
configure - all else is a dependent issue.

Then on the other hand I haven't seen and old confiles at least in the log.
I set up a dovecot in precise and upgraded to trusty.
I did not run into any such issues.
Therefore I have to assume that it depends on your local configuration.
I wanted to ask if you could share if this is still an issue for you. If not
what you have changed to avoid it and if it is ask you to share more details on
your dovecot setup and if possible more logs of dovecot itself - maybe we find
some hint in there.
