I have resolved almost all of the problems noted above, however the method was
tedious. I found a listing of all the packages in Kubuntu 16.04. I then used
"sudo apt-get build-dep <pkg name goes here>" on every package from an X-term
in the conjured GUI from xinit (above). Some packages were not present in the
first place. Many had some unmet dependencies. I answered "y" to all install
requests. After going down the list most problems were eliminated. I currently
have some bugs in kwin_x11, however nothing that stops the show.
1. Desktop icons will operate by a left double click, but not a right click and
selecting "open"I get error, malformed url.
2. The top of screen decorations of some windows are aff the screen and I have
to use <alt> <right click> to get the decorations on screen.
3. kwin_x11 will not execute in debug mode. (Makes bug reporting impossible)
4. KXStudio installed and cadence does not initialize correctly.
Re-installation did not fix it. I have to start alsa every second boot. Once
working everything is good.
5. I frequently need to do updates from a terminal because the update program
did not let me know it was going to do it.
6. Shutdown usually work normally, but sometimes it crashes. Restart always
crashes and needs a "power button" restart.
