In 7.04 I was able to get hibernate and suspend working with uswsusp. I used
this link as a guide. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=471855
It never worked correctly, I always had network errors coming back from it.
However, this tool has changed significantly and this guide seems to no longer
apply.
I'm positive that there won't actually be a bug "fix" to this before
release. I also doubt a fix will ever be integrated. I would like to
think it's possible, but I won't actually request it unless I personally
figure out how to do it in the most effective way possible.
If anybody knows of some patch or some way to get this working, I would
be eternally grateful. This is my last bug to report for 7.10.
Because I was able to get things working in 7.04 but not 7.10, I am going to
nominate it for Gutsy.
If this bug is fixed, along with the others I've reported, before release, I
can probably get another 10 users of Ubuntu among my university. I already
convinced one, but he's not sure if he wants to make the switch b/c of this and
one other reported glitch.
