Thanks for your mail, Sebastien.
I have formed a file tree structure below/within "inbox". The files
structure looks something like the following where each tab across the
page represents another subdirectory:
Inbox
BHome
Build'gCntrl
Greet'gs
Plann'gOff
Products
Busn's 2 Busn's
Advertis'g
TouchLocal
BusinessAdvice
BusinessLink
Hants
Somerset
South
Wessex
Wilts
Business Linx
BusiZone
EUDirectives
Finance
Banking
GovtGateway
PayPal
FSB
CoC
Gov'tDepts
... and so on.
Clearly I have only shown an example here but there are 11 main
sub-directories and each may have several sub-branches. When an e-mail
comes into the inbox, a rule may be applied to it (if it is from a
regular source) and it will then be grouped with other similar subject
headings or sources in one of the many subdirectories. Although Outlook
has other problems and trying to archive it or (worse) recover it from a
failure is well nigh impossible, it does actually manage the structure I
have applied, fairly well.
I hope this clarifies my problem. I use this system, as I mentioned
before, so that I can immediately keep tabs on the various threads of my
business interests/activities. Clearly, with the amount of spam that
finds its way even the most arduous filters there is still a load of
junk in the inbox but I can generally deal with this after I have
checked through any of the folders that are shown in bold type, since
this is where the important stuff has been filtered.
Feel free to keep in touch
Thanks
John
