Hi Basilio,
No, I do not have any desktop effects activated. When I press alt+F1,
the word "Applications" in the menu becomes highlighted but the menu
does not appear. What does appear, is a very tiny square box, under the
Ubuntu logo and all the way to the left side of the menu bar (I leave my
menu bar at the top of the screen).
Also, I just did a right mouse click on "Applications" and tried to
invoke "Edit Menus", but nothing happens when I try that.
When you say "rich mouse button", do you mean "right mouse button"? I do
get the standard floating menu when I right click over the desktop area.
Thanks,
Adrien

do you by any chance, have desktop effects activated?, if you press alt+F1,
does the menu display?, does a context menu appears when you press rich mouse
button over the desktop?.
thanks in advance.
