I managed to boot! Steps are below: Install kernel 4.8.8-25-generic from https://launchpad.net/~canonical-kernel-team/+archive/ubuntu/ppa/+packages Boot into the latest 4.4.0 kernel left over from Ubuntu 16.04 Get the 370.28 driver from NVIDIA (prior drivers lack support for Linux 4.7/4.8) Install it using `sudo sh <path-to-run-file> -k 4.8.0-25-generic` Reboot your machine!
