Similar symptoms on Acer Aspire E5-521 - no touchpad or USB mouse, no wifi, only generic graphics driver. Reverting to 4.4.0-42-generic is effective as a workaround.
Fix suggested by Matti Laakso (comment #17) restores all but wifi: apt install linux-image-extra-4.4.0-43 Running "dkms status" shows that the Broadcom Wifi driver (bcmwl) failed to build for 4.4.0-43-generic.
