Arvind, if you don't know what runit is or why it's installed, I
recommend uninstalling it with "apt-get purge runit". I think that
should unblock the rest of apt.

If you do want runit, then I'm afraid you're probably going to have to
figure out how to make it work on your system. It might not be easy.
