Since it seems likely to me that this is a local configuration problem,
rather than a bug in Ubuntu, I'm marking this bug as 'Incomplete'. It
appears from the error messages that you may have linked /usr/bin/python
to run Python 3 and not Python 2. This is not suggested because may
applications are expecting to use Python 2.
