On Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (xenial), I've found that libmysqlclient20 depends on mysql-common (>= 5.5) apt-cache show libmysqlclient20 | grep Depends Depends: mysql-common (>= 5.5), libc6 (>= 2.14), libgcc1 (>= 1:3.0), libstdc++6 (>= 4.1.1), zlib1g (>= 1:1.1.4) Can you please change this to simply "mysql-common" instead of the versioned one? As this now makes impossible for example to install the Codership Galera packages from ( deb http://releases.galeracluster.com/ubuntu xenial main ) together with the libdbd-mysql-perl . Now I get this: root@node1:~# apt-get install mysql-wsrep-5.6 libdbd-mysql-perl Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information...
