Phil Richey, you are asking what you are supposed to do? I have several
suggestions
1) First and most important, calm down. You are using software you are not
paying for, yet are incredibly demanding.
2) Don't install software from random places on the net, especially since you
have no clue what you are doing.
3) Don't mix Debian and Ubuntu packages unless you know what you are doing.
4) Don't open invalid tickets when ignoring #3
The issue you are seeing is a direct result of ignoring #3, closing as
invalid, not an issue in Ubuntu, but self-inflicted pain.
