Public bug reported:
dmesg | grep FTDI:
[ 2.574081] usb 2-2: Manufacturer: FTDI
[ 4.951352] usbserial: USB Serial support registered for FTDI USB Serial
Device
[ 4.951372] ftdi_sio 2-2:1.0: FTDI USB Serial Device converter detected
[ 4.965906] usb 2-2: FTDI USB Serial Device converter now attached to ttyUSB0
[ 9.054330] ftdi_sio ttyUSB0: FTDI USB Serial Device converter now
disconnected from ttyUSB0
^ * Clearly it connects the device to ttyUSB0 (which is what I want), and then
it disconnects right away.

Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
^ * Clearly the device is not showing up as an attached usb.

^ * Any help/advice on how to fix this would be much appreciated. I am
trying to connect a chip via an FTDI usb-serial converter.
