Too bad that we were not told at once, that we must start with an iso file that already has your fix. The tip to add xenial-proposed and upgrade caused a lot of FUD and extra work.
Comments 32,57: --- Please help us by testing this new package. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users. --- Anyway, now we think that we know. Because of the FUD I will wait some week(s) to 'collect' security updates, and try with the iso file from a couple of days ago. I saved it as $ ls -l xenial-desktop-amd64-2016-10-26.iso ... 1525235712 okt 26 07:07 xenial-desktop-amd64-2016-10-26.iso $ md5sum xenial-desktop-amd64-2016-10-26.iso 287daf005fb1351b4648aed19434f82f xenial-desktop-amd64-2016-10-26.iso -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1619188 Title: Unattended upgrades can break persistent live media To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/casper/+bug/1619188/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
