Public bug reported:
This has happened to me twice now, once with an Ubuntu 7.04 install disk
(less severe) and one with the current Release Candidate of 7.10 (very
severe).
When I have an external HD plugged in and connected by both Firewire and
USB and it's turned on, then I try to boot from the 7.04 LiveCD,
everything works fine until the mouse loads. Then the screen repeatedly
turns black and orange for about 10 minutes before booting up.
As for the 7.10 RC version, it's pretty bad. At first the same thing
happens, then the screen starts getting vertical lines of multiple
colors (sorry, can't explain it better). Then the mouse locks up and it
restarts that cycle about 5 seconds later. It's never ending.
It's not a major bug or anything, but for some people (like me) who boot
their main OS off an external HD, we may forget to turn it off when we
go to install Ubuntu.
