Public bug reported:

During upgrade to 7.10 from 7.04 I get the message: "Could not install
nvidia-glx" with the additional message "package nvidia-glx already
installed". Consider bug report.

Upgrading probably failed, try dpkg --configure -a. That seemed to work,
but the CPU was 100 % busy. Restart with kernel choice 2.6.22-14
resulted in a monitor crash: frequencies out of range.

Restart with kernel 2.6.20 is OK, with 2.6.22 same problem.

System claims to be 7.10

N.B. As always locale problems from perl. All remedies I have found in
the fora don't work.
