** Description changed:

  Impact
  ======
  webkit2gtk 2.14.2 is a new bugfix release in the stable 2.14 series

  https://webkitgtk.org/2016/11/03/webkitgtk2.14.2-released.html

  Same justification as bug 1632535 ...

  https://webkitgtk.org/security/WSA-2016-0006.html was just posted. New
  security fixes are not backported to previous stable releases, so I
  believe we will be updating Ubuntu 16.04 LTS with the 2.14 series like
  we did with the 2.12 series recently.

  Because of the non-trivial regression potential, it's good to get some
  real-world testing first. Plus it fixes some bugs affecting 16.10.

  Test Case
  =========
  - Run epiphany-browser, evolution and yelp since those apps currently use
webkitgtk's unstable DOM API
  - Run the ubiquity slideshow. Instructions for doing this without needing to
run the installer are at

  https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/webkit2gtk/+bug/1618956/comments/4

+ Those 4 apps are the most likely to have problems with the update. It
+ would probably be good to test a few other apps from its rdepends too:
+
+ $ reverse-depends src:webkit2gtk
+
  I have done this testing from my PPA. Please don't permanently add this
  PPA to your system as I use it for a variety of packaging experiments.

  Regression Potential
  ====================
  Low to Moderate. The diff is too large to be able to review very easily.
  A few months ago, a stable webkit2gtk update (2.12.4, fixed in 2.12.5) broke
the ubiquity slideshow ( bug 1618956 ). This risk is mitigated because we are
specifically testing for that now.
