I cannot imagine that the car manufactors have to maintain databases of their cars. There are so many mobile phones coming and leaving the market. A car manufactor cannot know and maintain them all.
My car from 2011 worked fine with a new Windows Phone from 2014. I have never heard of a phone database update for my or other cars.
