>From your description I would say you want impossible. Your panel is
literally in middle of the screen in your layout but space may be
reserved only near edge of the screen, not in middle, it's how multi-
monitor screens work. It's why that setting is inactive in configuration
dialog since version 0.8.0 in layout like yours to reflect the fact it
